At Honest Abe Roofing Miami, we take a lot of pride in being honest with our customers from the moment they reach out to us.
That is why we have created a list of 5 things to look for when you receive a roofing contract after your roof inspection.
If you are currently having a leak on your roof or looking to install a new roof we recommend the 5 tips below.
Tip #1: Check for hidden fees and costs
Please review carefully what is included in your roofing contract. Most roofing companies provide you with an estimate and will not guarantee your price. This is because they only include a limited amount of wood, flashing & other materials in the contract.
Sometimes they don't even include permit expenses.
At Honest Abe Roofing Miami & Broward, we guarantee our prices. If there is additional wood or material needed for the job that we did not account for, we will not charge you extra.
Tip #2: Look closely at warranties and guarantees’ duration & terms
Most guarantees are tied to a manufacturer, not the roofing company itself. You want to avoid contingencies on your guarantees.
At Honest Abe Roofing Miami & Broward, we can guarantee your roof for life.
What that means is, if you choose us as your roofing company and select the option to guarantee your roof through us, we will repair your roof at no additional cost during the life of that roof. Please note, this guarantee excludes natural disasters.
Tip #3: Check for FL state roofing contractor license
In Florida, all roofing companies must have a FL State Roofing Contractor License. If they do not, they cannot legally work on your roof, this includes roof repairs and new roofs.
Florida has this rule in place because there have been many fraudulent roofing cases in the state. For example, companies disappear after the first payment or perform a bad job and because they did not ask for a city inspection, you are left unaware of the problems that that roofing job could cost you.
At Honest Abe Roofing Miami & Broward, we are licensed because it is the legal and right thing to do.
Tip #4: Make sure the payment terms make sense to you
Please do not pay the full amount of your roof replacement or repair all at once. Make sure you divide the payments - that way you can avoid having a roofing company disappear with your money after the first payment.
At Honest Abe Roofing Miami & Broward, we make sure we go over our payment schedule and will always see through a project.
Tip #5: Review hidden financing fees & fake “government sponsored” programs
If financing, please take a close look at the terms.
At Honest Abe Roofing Miami & Broward, we offer financing solutions for your roof and are happy to walk you through the entire process.
